Each week we’re counting down to our Cheers to Liberty event by spotlighting ACLU of South Dakota members. We are beyond thrilled to introduce one of our featured guests and ACLU supporter, former U.S. Attorney for the District of South Dakota Brendan Johnson.
About Brendan Johnson
Mr. Johnson was nominated to be the United States Attorney for the District of South Dakota in 2009. He was selected by the Attorney General of the United States to chair the Department of Justice’s Native Americans Issues Subcommittee. Throughout his career he has been a partner and friend of the ACLU, and has advocated for the rights of Native Americans and women in South Dakota.
Brendan Johnson and the ACLU
“The threats to civil liberties and civil rights in South Dakota and across the nation have never been more dire or in need of our attention. I’m proud to be a member of the ACLU because ACLU is tireless in their commitment to the principles of the Constitution. ”
