Please note that Hippie Haven is closed on Sundays!
Voter registration drives serve as opportunities to empower communities that are historically disenfranchised at the ballot box. This includes, but is not necessarily limited to, immigrant communities, people of color, Indigenous folks, LGBTQ+ and Two Spirit people, and students.
Thankfully, we can play a part in changing that and creating a political atmosphere that works for everyone.
That’s why we’re proud to provide materials for the Stop-by Voter Registration Drive with Equality South Dakota, the Transformation Project, Black Hills Center for Equality, Sioux Falls Pride, and our location host, Hippie Haven. Positive change within our communities can only happen when everyone has a chance to participate. Stop by Hippie Haven during normal business hours (closed on Sundays) between now and Oct. 18 to register to vote, update your registration, learn more about your rights as a registered voter, or request your absentee ballot.
All materials (voter registration forms, absentee ballot request forms, voting rights brochures, envelopes, stamps, and color copies for IDs to send with your ballot requests or voter registration forms as well as contact information for your county auditor) are provided. Make sure to bring your ID or form of approved ID. Find those at sdsos.gov.
There absolutely are no costs associated with this and no candidates or elected officials are involved in this event.
Just because our event ends on Oct. 19, doesn’t mean you still can’t register to vote! Just visit sdsos.gov for more details.
