Rapid City Election Protection Team Training

September 11, 2024 @ 5:00 pm

What are you doing on November 5? (Besides voting, that is!)

Want to join our Election Protection Team?

For years, the ACLU has been engaged in election protection efforts, working to ensure easy, fair, and safe access to the ballot box. We do this by working with our partners to provide individual assistance through the Election Protection Hotline, by addressing systemic issues affecting access to the polls, and, when necessary, seeking relief for voters in the courts.

But this year, we want your help. Will you join us as an Election Observer in Rapid City?

Election Observers will play a crucial role in monitoring polling places for issues affecting voters, ensuring there is no voter disenfranchisement, and tracking any problems that can be fixed for future elections. You don't have to have any specific expertise – we'll train you! The only requirement is that you're not a candidate for office and that you're available for at least a two-hour shift on Election Day.

Our democracy works best when all eligible voters can cast their ballots. With your help, we'll protect every South Dakotan's right to vote in 2024 and beyond.
